Classic Military Rifles

No8 Mk1
Serial No A12663
Calibre .22
Price: £800

Good Condition

There were two action styles, one is very similar to the No5 & the second based on a standard No4 Action both may or may not have the original .303 ejector threaded hole on the side of the receiver

This version is based on the No4 style of action which has not been machined for the .303 ejector screw

Whilst BSA designed and manufactured the No.8 rifle at the Shirley factory on the outskirts of Birmingham, a significant number,
probably the greater, of rifles were produced at Fazakerley, the Royal Ordnance Factory in Lancashire.

Matching serial numbers on the Bolt, Action & Fore-end. The original rubber butt pad is still in excellent condition

The Butt has some German Competition Stickers, I have left these in situ as the new owner can make the descision to remove or not.

The Butt also has BWS stamped on it, this indicated the rifle has been back to Base Workshops, Southern Command, which woud have been in Singapore

The Butt Socket is Marked F51 (Fazakerley 1951) & CR324 (Pt No for the No8 Rifle)

This example looks as if it escaped the Enfield Factory FTR programme of No 8 Rifles in the 1970s

This a Genuine No8 built in 1951
