Very Good Condition

This is the standard MkIII .303 SMLE rifle manufactured by BSA

This was part of a large order for rifles through the UK Goverment Crown Office for South Africa circal 1920s

Re-Barreled 1955.

The action, bolt, barrel & fore-end have matching serial numbers.

The wood work is a pleasing medium walnut, complete and in very good condition & correctly bedded.
Fore-end is of the transitional late WWI type with the swelling where the volley sights would ahve been.

The butt has an un-numbered brass marking disc. - Has the Magazine Cut-off

The Action & Barrel are marked with a "U" and Broad Arrow denoting South African Military Ownership

Action maked X SAW - South African Defence Force Disposal Marks.

Just cleaned & degreased; last of the Lee Enfield rifles we imported direct from South African Disposal Agents
