Enfield Enforcer
UK Police Sniper Rifle
Serial No 150
Calibre 7.62mm
Price: £1,400 SOLD

Ex-Manchester Police

*** Commission Sale ***

All Matching & in Very Good Order.

There were around 767 manufactured by Enfield, not all were assembled.
A number of parts including a few receivers were sold off to Charnwood Ordnance, who assembled them in to complete rifles & sold them on the civilian market,
these were beleived to be in the 700 serial numnber range.

Of the 767 manufactured, 518 were supplied to UK Police Forces and approx 50% of these were destroyed, 99 were exported to Thailand, Abu Dhabi, Hong Kong & Kuwait
16 Were destroyed during manufacture or during testing, 134 were not assembled

Police forces purchased Enforcers depending on their budgets at the time; some purchased complete kits including target sights & Pecar scopes,
other purchased basic rifles, and then purchased the scopes etc as their budgets allowed.

A few original Enforcers were surplused in the late 1980/90s the rest approximately 50% were destroyed by the individual Police Forces.

This is a Genuine Police Issued Enfield Enforcer serial number 150; it has fully matching numbers.

It is fitted with a correct Parker Hale 5E4 target sight that required & the modified safety.

The barrel is original as it bears the “Patent Applied for” mark only found on genuine Enforcers, has a stepped profile and foresight is easily removable as it has the
correct screw clamp lock base.

The bore is in good condition, there is slight isolated frosting about 8 inces in from the muzle, gauges very good a 0.299".

The Enforcer Sniper rifles are rarer than No4Ts & L42A1s rifles because of the small quantities manufactured (767) and around 50% were destroyed.

Enforcer No 150 was 1 of 16 issued to the Manchester Police in 1974

Note: This rifle does not come with a Scope

A Little History of This Rifle

I purchased this rifle in the late 80s using the compensation from handing in our SLR's, originally looking for an Enfield Envoy for target shooting I went in to my local gunshop
the London Armoury on the Commercial Rd in East London, none were in stock but they recomended an Enforcer as it was basically the same rifle, they had quite a few to choose from, I picked up serial No 150 that was fitted with Parker Hale target sights for less than £300. It never had a Harris Bipod when I purchased it originally, the one fitted with the rifle is probably the one I fitted shortly after purchasing the rifle.

I went back a few months later to get some scope mounts & a scope, they never had the mounts and said the could order them in from Parker Hale, or I could part exchange Enforcer 150 for one already fitted with a Pecar Scope, which i did. Shortly after this, No 150 purchased by another customer who has owned the rifle ever since.
We are now selling it for him as he is giving up full bore shooting.

The Enfield Enforcers in stock at the time at the London Armoury could have all come from the Manchester Police as the one I purchased from them & still own
was also issued to them.
