A standard German Mauser K98 rifle by J.P. Sauer & Sohn, one of the oldest gun makers in Germany

This K98 rifle was originally manufactured in Nazi Germany by Sauer in 1936, identified by the German Code S/147.

After the war, it was likely reworked in Czechslovakia. The Czechs were among the few nations willing to sell arms to the newly formed Jewish State of Israel in the late 1940's.

The rifle was then rebarreled in Israel .

There is a large 7.62 cartouche on the underside of the butt as well as a small Israeli acceptance mark on the left side of the butt.

The receiver has been drilled to accept standard scope bases so quite easy to build a replica sniper rifle.

Comes with a Birmingham Proof House Deactivation Cert
