A standard "Trade" Pattern Martini Enfield by the renowned Birmingham Gun Maker William Ford.
This Trade Pattern is based on the Military Mk1 Martini Enfield.
The MkI was converted from a Martini Henry MkIII with the fore-end hook as apposed to the cross pin.
Its highly probable that the Trade Pattern rifles were newly made & not conversions from earlier rifles.
The Trade Pattern rifles were fitted with the nose cap for the Patt 88 sword bayonet.
This example is in good condition with a very good bore & tight head space.
The walnut wood work is also very nice, the butt is marked either side with the Willian Ford Trade Mark.
Some of the exposed metalwork does have light pitting
in places on the barrel, trigger housing & loading lever.
There is no pitting below the woodwork
On The Whole; A good Useable Martini Enfield with a Very Good Bore
