Rare SMLE MkI*** N (Naval Conversion) Built as a MkI* in 1909 and circa 1912 modified to MkI***N by the Navy with charger loading bridge added. This SMLE is now 105 years old and is still in very good condition and has the added bonus of being fitted with a new barrel. Walnut furniture with various hadling marks expected of a rifle of this age, long range volley sights & MkI nose cap. Original MkI sights are still fitted which have the bone inserts. The left side of the butt socket has the N mark denoting Naval Property / Issue. I recently used this rifle for a fixed bayonet comp on the ETR Ranges (100 - 300M) and managed a perfect score on the Fig.11 Head & Shoulders Targets
