Fitted with a BSA Commercial Heavy Barrel, because of
the Heavy Barrel there is no military rear sight fitted hence the full
length hand guard.
This is a BSA manufactured Commercial SMLE, but strangely
has Enfield Inspection marks, it was an option to have a rifle Military
Viewed to ensure it complied to the military standards at the time, but
these would have been marked with by the BSA military inspectors based
at BSA, these inspectors marks are the ROF Enfield inspectors marks.
The action is fitted with a Parker-Hale 5A aperture rear
target sight And Parker Hale Tunnel Front Sight, the receiver ring impressed
"G Fulton & Son".
The bolt is matched to the rifle and also has the Piled Arms (BSA) logo. The magazine is a 10 round detachable box magazine and a magazine cut-off is fitted.
This configuration is known as "Service Rifle
B" and would have been cutting a edge target rifle of its time.
