Regulated Target Rifle
By Fultons of Bisley
Serial No 9027
Price: £550

A Fulton BSA .303 NO.1 MARK III SMLE BOLT-ACTION TARGET RIFLE.

Excellent Condition

This is a BSA manufactured Commercial SMLE, but strangely has Enfield Inspection marks, it was an option to have a rifle Military Viewed to ensure it complied to the military standards at the time, but these would have been marked with by the BSA military inspectors based at BSA, these inspectors marks are the ROF Enfield inspectors marks.

There are records of Commercial Rifles being bought by the War Office / Ministry of Supply from Parker Hale, Westley Richards etc.

The action is fitted with a BSA / AG Parker folding aperture rear target sight.

The rifle has been adapted for target shooting by Fulton of Bisley and incorporates all of their classic modifications to achieve the best accuracy from these rifles, the forend has the additional strap fitted which is designed to restrain the additional centering stud and spring.

Fitted with a "Long Butt". The fore-end is the transitional type from WWI which still has the swelling where the long range "Volley Sights"
would have been inletted in.

This configuration is known as "Service Rifle B" and would have been cutting a edge target rifle of its time.

Because of the folding
target sight, it makes it possible to use the standard battle sight unhindered, which is the problem with the Parker Hale 5A

A Rare Target Version of The SMLE with an Excellent Bore, Matching Numbers and fitted with a Long Butt
