Standard British Pattern 1907 Bayonet by Sanderson Dated September 1916
A nice early WW1, example of the Pattern 1907 British
bayonet for the SMLE rifle, also re-issued during WW2 where the blades
were lightly shot blasted so
they are no longer bright and reflective. The scabbard is a WW2 replacement
The ricasso of the bayonet is stamped by the manufacturer;
Sanderson along with the Kings Crown GR for King George Regina, 1907 Pattern
and dated ' 9 16 (September 1916).
The reverse is stamped with inspection marks and War Dept arrow. The blade
is in nice clean condition and it's wood grips are undamaged. . It is
complete with it's later WW2 steel mounted leather Scabbard. The scabbard
has been stamped with the WW2 manufcaturers code M/44. All stitching and
Leather of the scabbard are intact.
A genuine WW1 bayonet re-issued during WW2 with correct
dulled blade & WW2 issued scabbard.
